CANDLE CARE & SAFETY
Please respect the presence of fire when using a candle. To burn a candle safely and prevent fire or injury, please follow these steps:
Before lighting:
Always trim the wick to 1/4” before lighting to prevent soot, smoke, and the flame from getting too large.
Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire. We recommend using a heat-proof coaster underneath to protect your surface.
Avoid burning a candle in areas with drafts that could affect the flame.
While burning:
Never leave a burning candle unattended or out of sight.
Only burn a candle for 3-4 hours at a time to prevent the wick from migrating towards the vessel.
To prevent tunneling, let the wax melt all the way across the candle before extinguishing.
Stop burning the candle when only 1/2” of wax remains. Burning beyond this point can cause the vessel to shatter or break.
Never extinguish a flame with water. This can cause hot wax to splatter or break the vessel.
After burning:
Wait until the wax cools completely before handling or moving the candle.
Citronella candles should be store inside when not in use. The wooden lid may expand or contract when exposed to fluctuations in outdoor temperatures, potentially leading to breakage of the vessel.
To reuse the vessel, place the candle in the freezer overnight once the last 1/2” of wax remains. This should allow the wax to easily be removed the next day.
PLEASE NOTE:
Burn times are an estimate and can vary depending on wick length, wax tunneling, and the environment the candle is burned in.
